Island Adventures Day 2

Today was Toby’s first day of work at 10:30, but since we were still on Cali time, we woke up at 6 in the morning (okay, Cohen woke at 5:30 wanting to hit the beach). We got our stuff together and hit the beach.

It was so peaceful with no one but the distance swimmers and shell gatherers out yet. We played in the water surrounded by little bait fish (though some were as large as 3 inches). If you walked up on the crib wall surrounding Kuhio Beach, you could see a couple of parrot fish hanging out by the outlet. Toby stayed with us as long as possible before heading back to change for work. Too soon, the other tourists joined us on the beach, crowding it with bodies and noise.  We decided we needed a snack (and a nap) at about 9:30… we hit the local Mc D’s for something to eat.

Local offerings at Island McDonalds.

After eating our snack on the beach (except for the pineapple included with every meal, we saved that for Dad) we made our way back to the hotel for a shower and a nap (seriously still on Cali time). Toby and Kyle got off early since it was their first day so we had a happy hour dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise of Sliders, Nachos, and 1/2 fries 1/2 onion rings.  Super good and super cheap. I got a mojito in a plastic pineapple that I pretty much drank everything out of for the rest of the trip. We swam at the beach with Danna and Kyle, Toby took pictures of the crabs on the crib wall with our new waterproof camera.
